Hooves - narrow and sharp-pointed
Social Behavior:

Steenbok normally solitary

Pair during mating or when female has lamb

Active –around sunrise and sunset

Move and eat after dark

Steenbok have well defined territories

Both sexes defend against intruders

During the heat of the day, they lie well hidden

When disturbed –dart off looking back momentarily to see the cause of the disturbance

Steenbok under severe stress will hide in holes
